Replacement
CAUTION: Do not remove the high-pressure temporary spare tire from the wheel. Do not service temporary spare.NOTE: If the tire is to be reinstalled on an original equipment wheel, mark the tire at the valve stem hole so that they can be reassembled in the same relative position.
^ Use Rotunda Tire Changer 104-00291 or equivalent to mount or dismount tires. Follow the equipment manufacturer's instructions. Do not use hand tools or tire irons alone to change the tire as this may cause damage to tire beads or wheel rim.
^ Rim bead seats (steel wheels only) should be cleaned with a wire brush or coarse steel wool to remove lubricants, old rubber and light rust.
^ Aluminum wheel rim bead seats should be cleaned with a non-abrasive cleaner to remove tire mounting lubricants and old rubber. Before mounting or dismounting a tire, the bead area should be well lubricated with a ready to use liquid soap that meets Ford Specification ESA-M1B6-A.
^ After mounting, inflate the tire so its beads are completely seated. Install the valve core and inflate the tire to the proper pressure.
