Cruise Control Servo: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. On vehicles equipped with dual batteries, use proper disconnect procedures. Dual Battery Disconnect
2. Remove the air cleaner assembly and the throttle body cover.





3. Remove the radiator coolant recovery reservoir retaining bolts.
4. Position the radiator coolant recovery reservoir aside.





5. Disconnect the speed control throttle actuator cable from the servo cable.
1 Hold the throttle actuator cable and twist the outer cover clockwise, until the outer cover unlocks.
2 Twist the outer cover counterclockwise until the white tab is in the unlock position.
3 Slide the cover towards the speed control servo.
4 Disconnect the core wire from the connector.





6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the speed control servo.





7. Remove the retaining screws and the speed control servo from the vehicle.





INSTALLATION
1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.

NOTE
- On vehicles equipped with dual batteries, use proper reconnect procedures. Dual Battery Disconnect
- When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the powertrain control module relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
- Adjust the cable after completing installation.
