Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Testing and Inspection

1. Raise and support vehicle.





2. Disconnect the transmission shift cable.





3. Loosen the Digital Transmission Range (DTR) sensor bolts.





4. Use the Digital Transmission Range (DTR) Sensor Alignment Tool to align the DTR sensor slots.

NOTE: The manual control lever must be in the NEUTRAL position.





5. Tighten the DTR sensor bolts.





6. Install the manual control lever.
(1) Position the manual control lever.
(2) Install a new outer manual control lever shaft nut.





7. With the manual lever in OVERDRIVE connect the shift cable.
8. Install the DTR sensor electrical connector.
9. Remove the supports and lower the vehicle.
