Power Locks: Description and Operation






The electronic door lock control system has two main components: the remote keyless entry module with integral receiver, located behind the B-pillar on the driver's side, and the three-button (hand-held) keyless entry remote transmitter.

The remote keyless entry module performs the following functions:
^ unlocks the driver front door
^ unlocks all doors
^ locks all doors
^ turns on the interior lamps after either front door handle is lifted
^ turns on the interior lamps when using a keyless entry remote transmitter
^ activates and deactivates a personal security panic alarm feature that sounds the horn and flashes the parking lamps and headlamps.
^ activates the lock verify feature that sounds the horn when the lock button is pressed on the keyless entry remote transmitter twice within five seconds
^ remembers to lock the sliding door if the door locks are activated when the sliding door is open

Inputs And Outputs
The electronic door lock control system receives input from the following:
^ front door handles
^ ignition switch
^ door lock switch
^ program connector
^ lamp switch
^ keyless entry remote transmitter.

The system distributes output to the following:
^ interior lamps
^ power door lock actuators
^ horn relay
^ headlamps
^ parking lamps
