Keyless Entry Transmitter: Description and Operation

NOTE: The remote entry features will not function when the ignition switch is in the ACC or ON position.

The keyless entry remote transmitter emits a radio frequency called Transmitter Identification Code (TIC). The RAP module recognizes the TIC transmitted and grounds the appropriate door lock relay coil. TICs can be retrieved using the New Generation Star (NGS). The three button transmitter is for the wagon only. The four button transmitter is for the sedan only.
