Data Link Connector: Description and Operation



PURPOSE
The Data Link Connectors (DLC) provide access to several systems in the vehicle for diagnosis and testing procedures.


OPERATION
The underhood Data Link Connector is used for diagnosis of anti lock brake systems and for energizing the vehicle's fuel pump for testing purposes.

CONSTRUCTION
The in-car OBD II Data Link Connector (OBD II DLC) is used with an OBD II compatible scan tool, such as the Rotunda New Generation STAR tester 007-00500, to diagnose the Electronic Engine Control (EEC) system. It is a standard, 16-pin OBD II data link connector.
