Overhead Trip Computer System
The overhead trip computer system consists of the following components:
- Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
- Compass Sensor Module.
- Overhead Trip Computer.
- Fuel Level Sensor and Pump.
- Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS).
The overhead trip computer displays:
- Compass direction.
- Distance To Empty (DTE).
NOTE: The Distance To Empty (DTE) display may be inaccurate if the vehicle is started while parked on an incline.
NOTE: Fuel fills of less than 22.7 liters (six gallons) may not be detected by the overhead trip computer.
- Average (AVG) fuel economy.
- Instantaneous (INST) fuel economy.
The overhead trip computer inputs are:
- Compass sensor module data (+) and (-).
- VSS.
- Fuel sender data.
- Data Output Line (DOL) fuel flow data from the PCM.
