Output Shaft Speed Sensor (OSS)
DESCRIPTION:The Output Shaft Speed (OSS) sensor is a magnetic pickup that sends a signal to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) assembly that indicates output shaft speed. The OSS sensor signal is used in the transmission control strategy to determine EPC pressure, shift and torque converter scheduling. The OSS sensor is mounted externally on the transmission.
SYMPTOMS:
Harsh shifts, abnormal shift schedule, no torque converter engagements.
DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES:
P0720, P0721.
