Powertrain Control Module (PCM)
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) controls various engine functions and provides control of the 5R55E transmissions. The PCM responds to inputs and operates solenoids for electro-hydraulic control of line pressure, shift scheduling, Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) scheduling and coast clutch control for coast braking.
The PCM has the ability to:
- Monitor its input and output devices for the presence of faults.
- Store Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) related to detected faults.
- Alert the driver for some detected faults by turning on the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) in the instrument cluster.
- Display information when a service technician connects diagnostic equipment.
Diagnostic Trouble Codes: P0603, P0605.
