Cruise Control Servo Cable: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the (A) accelerator control splash shield bolt and remove the (B) splash shield.
3. Separate the (A) accelerator cable from the (B) speed control actuator cable.
4. Remove the speed control actuator cable from the speed control servo. Press the speed control actuator locking clip inward and twist the actuator counter-clockwise.
INSTALLATION
1. Remove the cable from the nesting slot.
NOTE: Make sure the seal is present and pressed into position.
2. Lock the cable ball into the slot located in the servo rotor.
3. Pull the cable taut at the throttle body end.
4. Align and insert the cap into the slots in the servo body.
5. Rotate the cap clockwise until the locking arm on the cap engages the tab on the servo.
6. Snap the speed control actuator cable and the accelerator cable together in the clip and install the cables onto the accelerator cable bracket.
7. Position the accelerator control splash shield and install the bolt.
8. Install the battery ground cable.
NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
