Front Door Window Regulator: Service and Repair

Heavy Duty Riverter:

SPECIAL SERVICE TOOL(S) RECOMMENDED

REMOVAL
1. Raise the front door window glass to the full up position.







2. Disconnect the battery ground cable.







3. Disconnect the inside front door handle from the front door.
1. Remove the screws.
2. Disconnect the inside front door handle.







4. Disconnect the rod from the inside front door handle.







5. Support the front door window glass.







6. If equipped, disconnect the power window motor electrical connector.







7. If equipped, remove the equalizer bracket to front door inner panel nuts.







8. Remove the window regulator/motor assembly.
1. Drill out the rivets.
2. Remove the nut.







9. If equipped, remove the power window motor.
1. Remove the three nuts.
2. Remove the power window motor.

NOTE: Prior to motor removal, ensure the regulator arms are in a fixed position to prevent counterbalance spring unwind.

INSTALLATION



























1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Use Heavy Duty Riveter to install the new rivets.
- Cycle the door glass to ensure gear engagement.

NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
