Ignition Switch: Service and Repair


For an exploded view of the Steering Column, refer to Steering and Suspension / Steering / Steering Column / Diagrams / Exploded Views.





REMOVAL
1. Release the (A) four clips and remove the (B) steering column opening cover.





2. Release the (A) clips and remove the (B) lower instrument panel steering column cover.





3. Position the hood latch release handle aside.
(1) Remove the two screws.
(2) Position the hood latch release handle aside.





4. Position the parking brake release handle aside.
(1) Remove the two screws.
(2) Position the parking brake release handle aside.





5. Remove the instrument panel floor duct panel by removing the two push clips and releasing one expander clip.





6. Remove the upper instrument panel steering column cover.
(1) Remove the six bolts.
(2) Remove the upper instrument panel steering column cover.





7. Disconnect the ignition switch electrical connector.
(1) Remove the electrical connector bolt.
(2) Disconnect the electrical connector.





8. Remove the ignition switch.
(1) Remove the two screws.
(2) Remove the ignition switch.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
