REMOVAL
1. Disconnect ignition wires from spark plugs (12405).
2. Remove ignition wire routing clips from valve cover retaining bolt studs.
3. Remove oil filler cap (6766).
4. Remove crankcase ventilation hose (6853).
5. Remove valve cover retaining screws, valve cover and valve cover gasket (6584).

INSTALLATION

NOTE: Lightly oil bolt and stud threads before installation with clean engine oil meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C153-F.

1. Using solvent, clean cylinder head (6049) and valve cover sealing surfaces to remove all gasket material and dirt.
2. Position and install a new valve cover gasket into valve cover.
3. Position valve cover on the cylinder head and install retaining bolts. Note location of ignition wire routing clip stud bolts. Tighten retaining bolts to 8-12 Nm (71-106 inch lbs.).
4. Install oil filler cap.
5. Install crankcase ventilation tube (6758).
6. Install ignition wire routing clips.
7. Connect ignition wires to spark plugs.
8. Start engine and check for oil leaks.
