Condenser Fan Motor Relay: Description and Operation
CONDENSER FAN RELAYTo improve A/C efficiency, the A/C condenser cooling fan operates at two speeds. The low and high condenser fan relays control the A/C condenser cooling fan operation through coolant temperature. The condenser fan relays open and close according to the engine coolant temperature. During A/C operation when the engine coolant temperature is below 108°C (226°F) the low condenser fan relay will be activated and the high condenser fan will remain off. When the A/C system is off and the engine coolant temperature is above 108°C (226°F) the low condenser fan relay will remain off and the high condenser fan relay will be activated.
