Windshield Wiper and Washer System

The windshield wiper system consists of:
- Windshield wiper motor.
- Multi-function switch.
- Windshield wiper pivot arms.
- Windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shafts.
- Windshield wiper blades.

The windshield wiper system will operate when the ignition switch is in the ON or ACC position and is controlled by the windshield wiper/washer switch, which provides five functions. These functions are:

Off/Low/High Speed
- OFF, the windshield wiper system is off.
- LO is a low speed windshield wiper function where the windshield wipers cycle continuously for light rainfalls.
- HI is a high speed windshield wiper function used in heavy rainfalls.

Interval
- INT is an optional windshield wiper function used for very light rain when the windshield wipers are required to operate once every 1-14 seconds. A variable interval control, located on the windshield wiper/washer switch, allows the driver to adjust the windshield wiper cycle frequency.
- MIST is a windshield wiper function used for quick cleaning which is activated by pushing the windshield wiper/washer switch toward the instrument panel. The windshield wiper system will cycle at low speed as long as the windshield wiper/washer switch is pushed toward the instrument panel.

Two-Speed
The standard two-speed windshield wiper system does not have the interval function.

Pulling back on the windshield wiper/washer switch will cause the windshield washer system to operate and the windshield wipers to cycle two times.

Rear Window
The rear window wiper system consists of:
- Single-speed rear window wiper motor.
- Single rear window wiper pivot arm and rear window wiper blade assembly.
- Rear window wiper switch.

The rear window wiper will operate when the ignition switch is in the ON or ACC position and is driven by a single-speed rear window wiper motor mounted in the liftgate.

When the rear window wiper switch is turned on, the rear window wiper pivot arm and rear window wiper blade assembly wipes at a single speed. When the rear window wiper switch is turned off, the rear window wiper pivot arm and rear window wiper blade assembly returns to the park position.
