Keyless Entry Transmitter: Description and Operation

The electronic door lock control system includes a three-button (hand-held) remote entry transmitter. Remote entry transmitters are reprogrammable and all remote entry transmitters for the vehicle must be set at the same time. When troubleshooting the system, one remote entry transmitter is essential to perform tests.

To unlock the driver's door:
- Press the UNLOCK button on the remote entry transmitter, which is programmed into the electronic door lock control processor once.

This will also disarm the anti-theft system.

To unlock all doors:
- Press the UNLOCK button on the remote entry transmitter a second time, within five seconds of the first unlock.

NOTE: If more than five seconds have elapsed since the first press of the UNLOCK button, pressing the UNLOCK button again will only unlock the driver's door.

To lock all doors and arm the anti-theft system:
- Press LOCK button on the remote transmitter once.

To confirm that the doors have locked and that the anti-theft system has armed:
- Press LOCK button again, within five seconds of the first press.

The horn will chirp once if the doors have locked and all doors are closed so that the theft system is arming. The horn will chirp twice if any door is still ajar.

To activate the personal security alarm:
- Press the red PANIC button on any transmitter. The horn will sound and the parklamps will flash for a maximum of three minutes.

To deactivate the personal security alarm:
- Press the red PANIC button again on any transmitter or turn the ignition key ON.

NOTE: The remote entry features will not function when the ignition switch is in the RUN or ACCESSORY position.
