Data Link Diagnostics

1. Perform New Generation STAR Tester Hookup and Vehicle Selection as outlined.

NOTE: The ignition switch must be in RUN position or test will fail. This test is used to verify the proper operation of communication circuit of each module on the multiplex communication network or diagnostic communication network or diagnostic communication network.

2. Rotate dial to menu item "Diagnostic Data Link" and press trigger.
3. If results of Circuit 914 (+) = 0000 and Circuit 915 (-) = 0000, then the Multiplex Communication Network link test passed. If non-zeros returned, then go to Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart.
4. If results of Circuit 70 (LB/W) = 0, then the Diagnostic Communication Network Link Test passed. If non-zeros returned, then go to Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart.
