4.10 CLEAR CODES/PULL CODES

- Key "OFF."

NOTE: When the battery ground cable has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the powertrain control module relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn its strategy.

- Reconnect the battery ground cable.

- Verify that all the connectors are installed.

- Locate and disconnect the diagnostic test connector from its mating half (circuits 571 [BK/O] and 483 [R]).

- Key "ON."

- Begin the diagnostic trouble code flashout by connecting circuit 571 (BK/O) to a chassis ground for at least 1 second.

- Observe and count the code.

Is Code 16 set?

> Yes
Go to Drive Test Code 16. Drive Test 1 Code 16

> No
If Code 4, then go to Pinpoint Test 4.11. 4.11

If a different code is set, go to the pinpoint test for the corresponding code.
