8.5 CLEAR CODES/PULL CODES

- Key "OFF."

- Reconnect the battery ground cable.

- Verify all connectors are installed.

- Locate and disconnect the diagnostic connector from its mating half (Circuits 571 [BK/O] and 483 [R]).

- Key "ON."

- Begin the diagnostic trouble code flashout by connecting Circuit 571 (BK/O) to a chassis ground for at least 1 second.

- Observe and count code.

Is Diagnostic Trouble Code 16 present?

> Yes
Go to Drive Test Code 16. Drive Test 1 Code 16

> No
If Code 8, Go to Pinpoint Test 8.6. 8.6

If a different code is retrieved, go to the appropriate pinpoint test for the code.
