To test and service door lock system:
- Check that battery is fully charged (if not, it may be causing the concern).
NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal symptoms may occur while the powertrain control module (PCM) relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
- Disconnect and reconnect battery to make sure system is reset.
- Perform the Self Test.
- Service only as specified in the tests.
- Repeat the Self Test to make sure the system is operational.
NOTE: Voltage and resistance readings can be obtained using Rotunda 73 Digital Multimeter 105-R005 or equivalent.
NOTE: For additional system inspection and verification the New Generation Star (NGS) Tester 007-00500 or equivalent is required.
