Electronic Door Lock Control System
The electronic door lock control system has three main components:- The receiver assembly.
- The antenna.
- The three-button (hand-held) remote entry transmitter.
The door locks are controlled by the receiver assembly through the use of external relays. The receiver assembly also controls the anti-theft system.
Operating through the receiver assembly, the electronic door lock control system remote/keyless anti-theft personality performs these functions:
Remote Entry (Key Fob)
- Unlocks driver's door.
- Unlocks all doors.
- Locks all doors.
- Panic alarm.
- Issues interior lamps on (when unlocking) and off commands (when locking) to the Generic Electronic Module (GEM).
- Horn chirp verifies when fob LOCK is pressed twice.
- Double horn chirp notifies when door left open.
- Deactivates a triggered perimeter alarm.
- Arms/disarms anti-theft system.
- Allows up to four transmitters to be programmed.
Inputs
The receiver assembly receives input from these components:
- Remote entry transmitter (key fob).
- Door disarm switches (driver and passenger key lock cylinders).
- Ignition key lock cylinder sensor.
- Hood switch.
- Door ajar output from GEM module.
- Door lock switches (driver and passenger).
- Door unlock switches (driver and passenger).
Outputs
The system distributes output to these components:
- Driver's door unlock relay.
- All doors unlock relay.
- Lock all doors relay.
- Horn relay.
- Parklamp relay.
- Anti-theft (starter interrupt) relay.
- Illuminated entry request output to GEM module.
- THEFT LED (not lamp) in instrument cluster.
