Speed Control System
SPEED CONTROL SYSTEMThe speed control system consists of:
^ Speed control servo.
^ Speed control actuator cable.
^ Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS).
^ Operator controls, located on the steering wheel.
^ Speed control actuator switch.
^ Stoplight switch.
^ Deactivator switch.
^ Deactivator switch located on the brake master cylinder.
^ Instrument cluster indicator light.
The system operates independently of engine vacuum, therefore no vacuum lines are required.
SPEED CONTROL INDICATOR LIGHT
1. The speed control indicator light, which is located in the instrument cluster above the speedometer, comes on when the speed control is ON and speed is set.
2. The light goes off when the brakes are applied or the system is turned OFF.
3. When the ignition switch is turned to the ON position, the light comes on briefly as part of the cluster display self test.
4. The light does not indicate a problem with the speed control system.
