Speedometer Head: Description and Operation

The electronic speedometer operates in the following manner:

- Receives a speed/distance signal from the cableless transmission-mounted Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS).

All vehicles have a vehicle speed sensor attached to the transmission. This is used to sense vehicle speed required for the engine management system and to regulate the speed control system for vehicles so equipped.
