Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The Fuel Tank Pressure (FTP) sensor monitors the pressure or vacuum build-up in the fuel tank at both Key ON Engine OFF or Running operation and continuously transmits input signals to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). During the Evaporative Emission Monitor testing, it monitors the entire evaporative emission system fuel pressure or vacuum build-up.
