Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Service and Repair

REMOVAL and INSTALLATION
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.

NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected or reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.

2. Disconnect engine control sensor wiring from intake air temperature sensor.
3. Turn intake air temperature sensor 90 degrees counterclockwise and remove intake air temperature sensor from air cleaner cover.
4. Inspect intake air temperature sensor O-ring for damage or deterioration and replace as necessary.
5. Follow removal procedure in reverse order.
