Keyless Entry: Service and Repair

PROGRAMMING PROCEDURE

NOTE:
- The programming procedure is used for the Driver Door, Full Door and the Anti-Theft (Mexico only) systems.
- A maximum of four keyless entry remote transmitters can be programmed for each Remote Anti-theft Personality (RAP) module. When entering the program mode, all previously stored transmitter codes get erased. Therefore, programming must be done at the same time for all the transmitters.
- To enter the program mode, first verify that the battery is fully charged and that the anti-theft system is not armed or triggered (if equipped).

1. Turn the ignition switch from OFF to ON five times within ten seconds, ending in ON.
2. Press any button on the keyless entry remote transmitter.

NOTE: If the RAP module successfully entered program mode, it will LOCK then UNLOCK all doors (or the horn will chirp on Mexico vehicles only).

3. To program additional keyless entry remote transmitters, repeat step two.

NOTE: The door locks will LOCK then UNLOCK (or the horn will chirp on Mexico vehicles only) to acknowledge that the keyless entry remote transmitter has successfully been programmed.

4. When finished programming all transmitters, turn the ignition switch OFF.

NOTE: The door locks will LOCK then UNLOCK (or the horn will chirp on Mexico vehicles only) one last time to indicate the new transmitters have been programmed and program mode is now exited.
