Ignition Coil: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect engine control sensor wiring from the ignition coil.
3. Disconnect the ignition wires.
4. Remove the bolts and the ignition coil from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION
1. Position the ignition coil onto the bracket.
2. Install the bolts.
3. Apply Silicone Brake Caliper Grease and Dielectric Compound D7AZ-19A331-A (Motorcraft WA-10) or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESE-M1C171-A to all the ignition wire boots.
4. Install each ignition wire connector to the proper terminal on the ignition coil. Make sure the boots are fully seated.
5. Connect the engine control sensor wiring to the ignition coil.
6. Connect the battery ground cable.
