Cruise Control Servo Cable: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the (A) accelerator control splash shield bolt and remove the (B) splash shield.
3. Separate the (A) accelerator cable from the (B) speed control actuator cable.
4. Remove the speed control actuator cable.
^ Press the locking clip inward then twist the speed control actuator cable cap counter-clockwise.
INSTALLATION
1. Pull the speed control actuator cable away from the nesting slot.
NOTE: Make sure the seal is pressed into position.
2. Lock the cable ball into the speed control servo rotor slot.
3. Pull the speed control actuator cable taut at the throttle body end.
4. Align and insert the speed control actuator cable cap into the slots in the speed control servo body.
5. Rotate the cap clockwise until the locking arm on the speed control actuator cane cap engages the tab on the speed control servo.
6. Snap the speed control actuator cable and the accelerator cable together in the clip and install the cables onto the accelerator cable bracket.
7. Position the accelerator control splash shield and install the bolt.
8. Connect the battery ground cable.
NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
