Child Safety Seat

DISASSEMBLY
1. Disassemble the rear 60 percent seat with built-in child safety seat.







2. Open the child safety seat







3. Remove the comfort pad.







4. Remove the outboard safety belt anchor bolt.







5. Remove the inboard safety belt anchor bolt.







6. Remove the child safety seat cushion.







7. Remove the back panel screws.







8. Remove the head restraint.
1 Hold the back panel far enough away from the seat to access the head restraint spring clips.
2 Pull the spring clips enough to disengage them from the head restraint.
3 Remove the head restraint.







9. Thread the safety belts through the back panel and remove the back panel.







10. Remove the inboard safety belt bracket.
1 Remove the bolt.
2 Remove the bracket.

NOTE: Make sure the spacer from in between the safety belt bracket and the recliner mechanism is retained for use during assembly.







11. Remove the safety belt retractor for the child safety seat.
1 Remove the nut.
2 Remove the safety belt retractor.
12. Drill out the blind rivet and remove the cross strap.

CAUTION: Use care when drilling so as not to enlarge the hole.

ASSEMBLY
1. Position the cross strap.
2. Install a new M6.3 x 13.5 blind rivet.







3. Install the inboard safety belt bracket bolt.

NOTE:
^ Slide the cross-strap tab into the slot in the safety belt bracket before installing the bolt.
^ Be sure to install the spacer between the safety belt bracket and the recliner mechanism.







4. Pull the shoulder straps through the slots in the child seat back panel.







5. Install the safety belt retractor for the child safety seat.
1 Position the safety belt retractor.
2 Install the nut.







6. Install the back panel.
1 Thread the safety belts through the back panel.
2 Position the back panel.
3 Install the back panel screws.

NOTE: Make sure the child seat shoulder straps are threaded through the proper slots.







7. Install the child seat head restraint.
8. Position the safety belt anchors.

NOTE: The child safety seat safety belt anchors are designed with a bend. When installing the safety belts, make sure the bends are away from any potential child seat occupant.







9. Position the child safety seat cushion.

NOTE: The inboard pivot is keyed. Be sure that it is properly seated prior to the safety belt anchor bolt installation.







10. Install the inboard safety belt anchor bolt.







11. Install the outboard safety belt anchor bolt.







12. Install the comfort pad.







13. Close the child safety seat.
14. Assemble the rear 60 percent seat with built-in child safety seat.
