Exterior Lighting
The headlamp switch is a three position switch that controls the headlamps and the exterior lamps.
The multi-function switch controls the turn signals, high beams, and hazard lamps.
The Brake Pedal Position (BPP) switch controls the brake lamps and the rear hi-mount lamp.
The optional autolamp system provides light sensitive automatic on-off control of the exterior lamps normally controlled by the headlamp switch. The autolamp system keeps the lamps on for a preselected period of time after the ignition switch is turned off. The pre-selected time lapse is adjustable up to approximately three minutes.
The fog lamps are controlled by the fog lamp switch. The fog lamps can only be operated with the headlamp switch in the ON position and the multi-function switch lever in the low beam position.
Lamp Out Warning System
The message center lamp out warning feature has been deleted for these vehicles. The Lamp Outage Module (LOM) will remain installed in early production vehicles but have no warning outputs to the message center. On previous vehicles, the LOM was wired in series with the stoplamps, rear lamps and low beam headlamps.
Early production vehicles will have a unique LOM located in the floor console with no function except to act as a jumper. As a running change, late production vehicles will have the LOM deleted.
