Throttle Body: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

WARNING: DO NOT SMOKE OR CARRY LIGHTED TOBACCO OR OPEN FLAME OF ANY TYPE WHEN WORKING ON OR NEAR ANY FUEL RELATED COMPONENTS. HIGHLY FLAMMABLE MIXTURES ARE ALWAYS PRESENT AND MAY BE IGNITED, RESULTING IN POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY.

CAUTION: Throttle body bore and plate area have a special coating and cannot be cleaned or damage to the coating may occur.







1. Disconnect the Throttle Position (TP) sensor electrical connector.







2. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube.
1 Disconnect the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor electrical connector.
2 Loosen the clamps and remove the air cleaner outlet tube.







3. Disconnect the idle air control electrical connector.
4. Disconnect the accelerator cable and bracket.







5. Remove the throttle body.
1 Remove the bolts.
2 Remove the throttle body.












INSTALLATION
1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
