Cruise Control Servo Cable: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the accelerator control splash shield.
1 Remove the bolts.
2 Remove the accelerator control splash shield.
3. Remove the speed control actuator cable bolt.
4. Separate the speed control actuator cable from the throttle body linkage.
5. Remove the speed control actuator cable from the speed control servo.
^ Press the speed control actuator locking clip inward and twist the actuator counterclockwise.
INSTALLATION
1. Remove the cable from the nesting slot.
NOTE: Make sure the seal is present and pressed into position.
2. Lock the cable ball slug into the slot located in the servo rotor.
3. Pull the cable taut at the throttle body end.
NOTE: Make sure white indicator mark is visible on speed control actuator cable for proper routing.
4. Align and insert the cap into the slots in the servo body.
5. Rotate the cap clockwise until the locking arm on the cap engages the tab on the servo.
6. Snap the speed control actuator cable onto the throttle body linkage.
7. Install the speed control actuator cable bolt.
CAUTION: The guide pin must be fully seated before installing the speed control actuator cable bolt.
8. Install the accelerator control splash shield.
1. Position the accelerator control splash shield.
2. Install the bolts.
9. Install the battery ground cable.
NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
