Cruise Control Servo: Service and Repair

REMOVAL







1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

CAUTION: Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. If exposed to these charges, damage may result.







2. Disconnect the speed control servo electrical connector.







3. Remove the speed control actuator cable from the speed control servo.
^ Depress the speed control actuator cable cap tab inward and twist the actuator cap counterclockwise to remove.







4. Remove the speed control servo bracket bolt and remove the servo.

INSTALLATION







1. Install the speed control servo bracket bolt.







2. Lock the cable ball slug into the slot located in the servo rotor.







3. Pull the cable taut at the throttle body end.

NOTE: Be sure white indicator mark is visible on speed control actuator cable for proper routing.







4. Align and insert the cap into the slots in the servo body.







5. Rotate the cap clockwise until the locking arm on the cap engages the tab on the servo.







6. Install the battery ground cable.

NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
