Cruise Control Servo: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Remove battery.
2. Remove christmas tree connector retaining headlamp dash panel junction wire from LH inner fender apron and position out of way.
3. DO NOT REMOVE speed control servo FROM speed control servo bracket YET. Remove two screws that mount speed control servo to LH fender apron. DO NOT REMOVE SERVO ASSEMBLY FROM APRON YET.
4. Unclip speed control actuator cable from two clips located on LH fender apron. DO NOT NEED TO REMOVE CHRISTMAS TREE CONNECTORS ON ACTUATOR FROM APRON.
5. Disconnect harness connector C116 from speed control servo by PRESSING DOWN on connector locking tabs.
6. Lift and remove speed control servo and speed control servo bracket as a unit from LH fender apron.
7. Disconnect speed control actuator cable at throttle lever by snapping off of nailhead.
8. Depress locking arm on speed control actuator cap and rotate counterclockwise while lifting upward.
9. Insert a small screwdriver in locking spring. Gently pry back spring and remove cable slug from servo pulley.
10. Remove three screws from speed control servo and remove bracket from servo. Remove speed control servo from vehicle.
INSTALLATION
1. Install servo bracket to speed control servo with three screws. Tighten to 7.6-10.4 Nm (67-92 Lb-In).
2. Make sure rubber seal is fully seated onto speed control actuator cable cap.
3. Make sure that throttle lever is at idle position after speed control actuator cable installation and adjustment.
NOTE: Incorrect wrapping of speed control actuator cable core wire around speed control servo pulley may result in a high idle condition.
4. Lock actuator cable ball slug into speed control servo pulley slot.
5. Attach speed control actuator cable to throttle at throttle lever nailhead, snap in place.
6. With tension at the throttle end, draw cable cap onto speed control servo pulley inserting cable cap locking tabs into servo housing slots. Rotate cap clockwise until locking arm engages locking tab on speed control servo and snaps in place.
7. Reinstall speed control servo and speed control servo bracket as a unit with two screws to LH fender apron. Tighten to 6-7 Nm (54-62 Lb-In).
8. Connect harness connector C116 to speed control servo.
9. Attach headlamp dash panel junction wire to LH fender apron.
10. Reinstall battery.
NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
11. Adjust speed control actuator cable. Adjustments
