Crankshaft Main Bearing

GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS
Clearance to Crankshaft
Desired 0.25-0.035 mm (0.001-0.0014 inches)
Allowable 0.020-0.066 mm (0.0005-0.0023 inches)
Bearing Wall Thickness (Std.)
1st and 2nd 2.444-2.481 mm (0.0962-0.0976 inches)
3rd and Rear 2.491-2.427 mm (0.0980-0.0955 inches)

TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

- Before tightening main bearing cap retaining bolts/stud bolts, wedge a large pry bar between cylinder block web and crankshaft cheek located in front of the No. 3 crankshaft main bearing. Do not jam the pry bar into place. Apply sufficient force only to push crankshaft forward while the main bearing cap bolts are tightened.

- Tighten main bearing cap retaining bolts/stud bolts to 75-85 Nm (56-62 ft. lbs.) and remove pry bar.
