Communication Error, Module Not Responding

If tester displays Communication Error, Module Not Responding when trying to retrieve DTCs, it means the Rotunda New Generation Star (NGS) Tester 418-F048 (007-00500) or equivalent is not able to communicate with the anti-lock brake control module . It does not mean the anti-lock brake control module is defective. Check the following items when this message occurs:

Confirm that the ignition switch is in RUN position.

Check the power distribution box and fuse junction panel for open fuses.

Check the NGS connection to the diagnostic connector.

If none of these actions will restore the communication link, proceed to Anti-Lock Quick Check Sheet to check battery power, ignition feed, and diagnostic link. Quick Tests
