Traction Control Module: Description and Operation

The anti-lock brake control module assembly is located in the front of the engine compartment on the LH side below the battery. It consists of:
- brake pressure control valve block
- pump motor
- anti-lock brake control module

The brake pressure control valve block used for traction control is different from the non-traction control brake pressure control valve block. The traction control brake pressure control valve block contains hydraulic isolation valves to allow fluid to be drawn from the brake master cylinder for the traction control function. The traction control brake pressure control valve block is 154.4 mm (6 inches) long, has four outlet tube ports and uses 6 mm (M 12) tube nuts on the tubes going to the master cylinder.
