Alternator: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the drive belt.







3. Remove the generator bracket bolts.
4. Disconnect the ignition wire pin-type retainer from the generator bracket.







5. Remove the (A) front generator bolts and the (B) generator.







6. Disconnect the generator electrical connections.
1. Disconnect the generator electrical connectors.
2. Remove the generator B+ nut.
3. Disconnect the generator B+ cable.

INSTALLATION







1. Connect the generator electrical connections.
1. Connect the generator B+ cable.
2. Install the generator B+ nut.
3. Connect the generator electrical connectors.







2. Install the generator.
1. Position the generator.
2. Install the front generator bolts.







3. Install the generator bracket bolts finger tight, then tighten to specifications.
4. Attach the ignition wire pin-type retainer to the generator bracket.
5. Install the drive belt.
6. Connect the battery.
