This TSB article is being republished in its entirety to correctly list the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) reprogramming information.

ISSUE
Some vehicles may exhibit a "squawking" noise while in Reverse backing up a slight grade and/or while applying the brakes. This may be caused by marginal line pressure in Reverse during this near torque converter stall condition.

ACTION
Reprogram the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The revised calibration has increased the line pressure to reduce the possibility of noise. Refer to the PCM Reprogramming Information Table for calibration details.

Obtain an Authorized Modifications Decal (FPS 8262 - obtainable through DOES II, 25/pkg) and list the date, dealer number, and summary of modifications performed. Select a prominent place adjacent to the Vehicle Emission Control Information Decal suitable for installing the Authorized Modifications Decal. Clean the area, install the decal, and cover it with a clear plastic decal shield.
