Removal

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.





2. Remove the four screws.





3. Remove the gearshift lever assembly.
^ Remove the bolts.
^ Remove the gearshift lever assembly,





4. Disconnect the electrical connector and position the wiring harness out of the way.
5. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.
6. If transmission disassembly is required, drain the transmission fluid.





7. Remove the driveshaft.
1 Remove the bolts.
2 Remove the driveshaft.
8. On 4-wheel drive vehicles, remove the transfer case.





9. Remove the clutch slave cylinder.





10. Position a transmission jack under the transmission and secure with a strap.





11. Remove the transmission mount.
1 Remove the nuts.
2 Remove the bolts and the transmission mount.





12. Remove the RH crossmember nuts and bolts.





13. Remove the LH crossmember nuts and bolts.
14. Remove the crossmember.





15. Remove the engine-to-transmission bolts.
16. Remove the transmission.
