Vehicle Certification Label Reference

The upper portion of the Vehicle Certification (VC) label contains the manufacturer name, the month and year of manufacture, the certification statement and the VIN. It also includes gross vehicle weight ratings. The VC label is located on the left-hand front door jamb.

The brake type code is:
- 2-4-Wheel disc brakes with anti-lock brakes (ABS)







The interior trim codes are listed below. The first letter/number is for the interior fabric. The second letter is for the interior color.
- Z - Cloth Simmons (Individual)
- T - Leather/Vinyl (Individual)
- 4 - Leather (Sport Seat)
- 7 - Nomad Cloth (Sport Seat)
- D - Leather/Vinyl (Sport Seat)

The interior trim colors are:
- S - Saddle Tan
- 2 - Medium Graphite
- Z - Oxford White
- H - Medium Parchment
- W - Midnight Black







The tape and paint stripe codes are:
- M - Saddle/Gold (rocker panel accent stripe)
- A - Black (rocker panel accent stripe)
- W - White (rocker panel accent stripe)







The radio type codes are:
- 9 - Mid-Line AM/FM Stereo with Cassette and Clock
- 8 - Premium AM/FM Stereo with Cassette and Clock
- 8 - Mach 460 Premium AM/FM Stereo with Cassette, Clock and subwoofer sound system







The axle ratios are:
- 68- 2.73 conventional
- 78 - 2.73 conventional
- AM - 2.73 locker
- BM - 2.73 locker
- VM - 2.73locker
- EZ - 3.08 locker
- HZ - 3.08 locker
- LE - 3.27 locker
- ME - 3.27 locker
- SE - 3.27 locker







The transmission/transaxle codes are:
- U - 4-speed automatic, (4R70W) Livonia Transmission
- 5 - 5-speed manual (T5OD)
- 6 - 5-speed manual (Warner T45OD)







The spring codes are:

NOTE: Front spring base part number is 5310, rear spring base part number is 5560.
