Special Tools:










1. Remove the LH engine support insulator. Remove the bolts.





2. Remove the RH engine support insulator.
- Remove the bolts.





3. Remove the special tool.





4. Remove the special tool.





5. Remove the oil level indicator and tube and discard the O-ring.
- Remove the bolt.





6. If equipped with exhaust air supply valve, loosen the nut.





7. Remove the LH exhaust manifold and discard the gasket.
- Remove the bolts.





8. If equipped, remove the exhaust air supply valve assembly.
1 Loosen the tube nut.
2 Disconnect the air tube.
3 Disconnect the vacuum tube.
4 Remove the nuts.





9. Loosen the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve nut.





10. Disconnect the hoses.





11. Remove the EGR tube.





12. Remove the RH exhaust manifold and discard the gasket. Remove the nuts.





13. Disconnect the Idle Air Control (IAC) and Throttle Position (TP) sensor electrical connectors.





14. Position the RH spark plug wires aside.





15. Position the LH spark plug wires aside.





16. Disconnect the ignition coil.





17. Remove the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) tube.





18. Disconnect the vacuum tubes.





19. Disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the vacuum tube.





20. NOTE: Record the location of the long bolts and the short bolts.

Remove the upper intake manifold and the upper intake manifold gasket.
21. Remove the fuel rail and the fuel injectors.





22. Disconnect the electrical connector.





23. Disconnect the electrical connector.





24. Disconnect the electrical connector.





25. Remove the pin-type retainer.





26. Disconnect the electrical connector.





27. Remove the engine wiring harness.





28. Remove the stud bolt.





29. Remove the heater water outlet tube.





30. NOTE: Record the location of the long bolts and the short bolts.

Remove the lower intake manifold and the intake manifold gasket.





31. Remove the accessory drive belt.





32. Remove the water pump pulley.





33. Remove the A/C compressor bracket.





34. Using the special tool, remove the power steering pump pulley.





35. Remove the power steering pump bracket.





36. Remove the generator mounting bracket.
- Remove the bolts.





37. Remove the crankshaft pulley bolt.





38. Using the special tool, remove the crankshaft pulley.
