Installation

Special Tools:

1. Install the flywheel.
1 Install the separator plate.
2 Install the flywheel.
3 Install the bolts.





2. Using the special tools, position the engine in the vehicle.
3. Remove the special tools.
4. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.





5. Install the LH engine mount nut.





6. Install the RH engine mount nut.





7. Install the transmission oil filler tube.





8. Install the 5 upper bell housing bolts.





9. Install the bolts.





10. Install the four torque converter nuts.





11. Install the access cover.





12. Install the oil pan drain plug.





13. Install the bracket.





14. Connect the engine ground strap.





15. Install the bracket.





16. Install the bracket.
17. Install the dual converter Y-pipe.
18. Install the starter motor.
19. Lower the vehicle.





20. Connect the Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) return tube.





21. Connect the connector and vacuum tube.





22. Position the wire harness.





23. Connect the 42-pin connector.





24. Connect the heater hoses.





25. Connect the vacuum hose.
26. Connect the fuel supply tube.





27. Connect the A/C compressor electrical connector.
28. Connect the A/C manifold and tube.
29. Install the air cleaner outlet tube.





30. Install the accelerator cable bracket.





31. Connect the accelerator cable.





32. Install the radiator coolant recovery reservoir.





33. Connect the upper radiator hose.





34. Connect the lower radiator hose.





35. Connect the power steering pump.
- Connect the power steering return hose.
- Position the clamp.
- Connect the power steering pressure tube.





36. Connect the generator.
- Connect the battery positive cable.
- Tighten the nut.
- Connect the connectors.





37. Connect the vacuum hose.





38. Install the hood.





39. Connect the hood ground strap.

40. NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal driving symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 mi) or more to relearn its strategy.

Connect the battery.
41. Fill the engine with clean Super Premium SAE 5W30 Motor Oil XO-5W30-QSP or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C153-G.
42. Fill the engine cooling system.
43. Recycle the A/C refrigerant system.
