Alternator Brush: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

NOTE: The voltage regulator/brush holder is serviceable as an assembly only.

1. Remove the generator.







2. Remove the generator regulator and brush holder.
1. Remove the screws.
2. Remove the generator regulator and brush holder.

INSTALLATION

NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.







1. Install the generator regulator and brush holder.
1. Depress the brushes and insert a wire to hold the brushes during installation.
2. Install the generator regulator and brush holder.
3. Install the screws and remove the wire.
2. Install the generator.
