Countershaft Bearing
Special Tools:
Disassembly
1. Using a press and the special tools, remove the countershaft bearing cone and roller.
2. Using the special tools, remove the countershaft rear bearing.
3. CAUTION: Failure to correctly support the case will result in the permanent distortion of the case during bearing race removal.
Note: Remove the front countershaft bearing race only if it is damaged or worn. If the bearing race is removed, Threadlock and Sealer EOAZ-19554-AA or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSK-M2G351-A5 (Type II) must be used during installation.
Use a press and the special tools to remove the bearing race and O-ring.
Assembly
Note: Do not install the rear countershaft bearing cone until the countershaft is positioned in the transmission case.
1. Install the O-ring onto the bearing race.
2. CAUTION: Failure to correctly support the case will result in the permanent distortion of the case during bearing race installation.
Install the bearing race.
^ Coat the outside diameter of the bearing race with Threadlock and Sealer EOAZ-1955lAA or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSK-M2G351-SA (Type II).
^ Using the special tools, install the bearing race.
3. Using a press and the special tools, install the front countershaft bearing cone and roller.
