Sun and Shell Assembly-Disassembly






Disassembly
1. Set assembly on overdrive drum.





2. Remove front sun shell.





3. Remove No. 11 front sun shell thrust bearing.





4. Remove intermediate clutch hub.





5. Remove No. 10 thrust bearing.
6. Turn assembly over.





7. Remove overdrive drum.





8. Remove one-way clutch assembly from inner race of overdrive drum.





9. Disassemble one-way clutch for cleaning and inspection.
10. Assembly one-way clutch with shoulder up, outer race with groove up and upper and lower oil caps.

11. CAUTION: Outer race must rotate counterclockwise. Make sure end caps are fully seated.





Install low one-way clutches as an assembly with groove on outer race up.
