Inspection and Verification (Start Testing Here)
1. Verify the customer concern by operating the system.2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage.
VISUAL INSPECTION CHART
Mechanical
- Power sliding door wedges and strikers misaligned.
- Drive assembly actuator cables disconnected or damaged.
- Sliding door tracks and rollers binding or obstructed.
- Fuel filler door interlock mechanism binding or damaged. (left power sliding door only)
Electrical
- Fuse junction panel fuse 6 (15 A), 10 (10 A) or 14 (10 A).
- Battery junction box fuse 118 (50 A) or fuse 110 (50 A).
- Door open and close switches.
- Overhead console on/off switch.
- Sliding door contact alignment.
- Fuel filler door switch. (left power sliding door only)
- Loose or corroded connections.
3. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
4. If the NGS tester does not power up, refer to the New Generation STAR tester manual.
5. Carry out the DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST. If the NGS tester responds with:
- CKT 914, CKT 915 or CKT 7O=ALL ECUS NO RESP/NOT EQUIP, refer to Information Bus.
- NO RESP/NOT EQUIP for Left Power Sliding Door Module (LPSDM), go to Pinpoint Test A. A: No Communication With the Left Power Sliding Door Module
- NO RESP/NOT EQUIP for Right Power Sliding Door Module (RPSDM), go to Pinpoint Test B. B: No Communication With the Right Power Sliding Door Module
- NO RESP/NOT EQUIP for Rear Electronics Module (REM), go to Pinpoint Test C. C: No Communication With the Rear Electronics Module
- SYSTEM PASSED, retrieve and record the continuous Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), erase the continuous DTCs and carry out self-test diagnostics for the Left Power Sliding Door Module (LPSDM), the Right Power Sliding Door Module (RPSDM) and the REM.
NOTE: In order to carry out the power sliding door module self-tests, the overhead console on/off switch must be in the ON position. The power sliding door must be completely closed and unlocked. The vehicle must be in PARK and the ignition switch must be in RUN. For the left power sliding door only, the fuel filler door must be completely closed.
6. If the DTCs retrieved are related to the concern, go to the LPSDM, LPSDM Diagnostic Trouble Code Index
