ISSUE
Some vehicles may exhibit a vibration condition at 72 km/h (45 mph) and above. This condition may be noticed after replacing, rotating, or servicing wheel and tire assemblies.

ACTION
Replace the chassis components with parts supplied in Chassis Service Kit 1F2Z-3C304-AA. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.

NOTE: ALL CHASSIS COMPONENTS IN THE SERVICE KIT MUST BE INSTALLED (NOT PARTIALLY) OR RIDE AND HANDLING OF THE VEHICLE MAY BE AFFECTED.





Components included in Chassis Service Kit 1F2Z-3C304-AA include: Both lower control arms, strut isolators, upper and lower subframe mounts, all necessary hardware for installation, and an instruction sheet. (A # 3 engine mount is also included for use with 3.8L engines only.)

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Verify vibration over 72 km/h (45 mph).

2. Follow normal Workshop Manual noise, vibration and harshness repair techniques. Refer to the appropriate Windstar Workshop Manual, Section 100-04.

3. If vibration cannot be corrected with normal service procedures, install Chassis Service Kit 1F2Z-3C304-AA.

4. Follow removal and installation procedures in the Workshop Manual as outlined by the instruction sheet included with the kit.

5. Torque new subframe bolts to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft).

6. Check alignment and adjust as necessary.
