EGR Valve: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove the engine air cleaner. For additional information, refer to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction.







2. Disconnect the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve vacuum hose.







3. Disconnect the EGR valve tube upper fitting.







4. Remove the EGR valve.
1. Remove the bolts.
2. Remove the EGR valve.
^ Discard the gasket.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Carefully clean all sealing surfaces and install a new EGR valve gasket.

NOTE: The EGR valve sealing surfaces are soft metals.
