Auxiliary Climate Control

SUCTION ACCUMULATOR

REMOVAL
1. Perform the Refrigerant Discharging and Recovery Procedure.







2. Disconnect the A/C cycling switch connector.







3. Disconnect the evaporator core outlet tube.

CAUTION: To prevent damage to the fitting and the tube, use a backup wrench when removing the suction accumulator/drier.






4. Disconnect the auxiliary line fitting.







5. Disconnect the manifold and tube assembly.







6. Remove the suction accumulator/drier bracket clamp bolts and remove the suction accumulator/drier.







7. Remove the A/C cycling switch from the suction accumulator/drier.


INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Service the replacement suction accumulator/drier with the correct amount of PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil (R-134a Systems) F7AZ-19589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B. See: Refrigerant Oil Addition.
^ Lubricate the O-ring seal with PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil (R-134a Systems) F7AZ-19589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B.

CAUTION: To prevent damage to the fitting and tube, use a backup wrench when installing the suction accumulator/drier.
